1. THE CRITICAL TEST FOR TODAY'S CHRISTIANS

The critical test for the Christian is whether or not he or she can believe God’s infallible Word, which is spoken to us either generally through the Scripture or personally through the Spirit. Our fallen body, this fallen world, fallen man, and fallen angels are always contradicting what God says, with seeming insurmountable evidence to validate their taradiddle over God’s truth. The critical question is whether or not you will cling to God’s Word when everything else—your senses, your feelings, your reasoning, the spirit of the age, man-made philosophies, public opinion, and demonic oppression—are contradicting it. If you will, then, and then only, will you be living life as God created you to live, by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4).

Before God’s Word is appropriated in your life you must unquestionably accept it over all opposing arguments and unconditionally apply it over its apparent impracticability. Only then, as Jesus taught in John 7:17, will God’s Word be proven true in your life!

2. When we peddle our presumption as true faith, and the world sees God failing to perform what we presume, it appears to disprove rather than prove our Christian profession.

3. To believe that we can twist God’s arm behind His back and make Him do our bidding by our positive confession or positive thinking is more than a heresy; it is blasphemy!

4. When our fear is on display rather than our faith, we are a poor witness of Christ and a hindrance rather than a help to others placing their faith in Him.
