Today's Prayer Pearl

The biblical exhortations to “pray always,” and “without ceasing” teach us that prayer is more of an attitude of our heart than the posture of our body or the words of our mouth (Ephesians 6:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:17). To always be in prayer is to live with a midnight mentality (Luke 11:5-10). It is to always be aware of your abject spiritual poverty and of Christ’s abundant spiritual riches. Whereas you don’t have what is needed, either for your own needs or for the needs of others, Christ has more than enough to meet the needs of the whole world. If you will live your life in constant reliance upon Christ, you will live your life in constant prayer. When it comes to your needs and the needs of others, Christ will provide, if you will ask, and keep on asking, seek, and keep on seeking, and knock, and keep on knocking. By doing so you show your faith in Christ’s willingness to meet your needs, as well as those of your family, friends, and fellow-man.
