Contrary to popular opinion, the book of Revelation does not contain an escape hatch for the church from coming end-time tribulation. It does not teach a secret rapture of the church, by which Christians will be snatched up to the safety of Heaven before any end-time trouble starts. In fact, it actually teaches the opposite, guaranteeing us that the church will go through the unprecedented and Biblically predicted perilous times of the last days. If read with an open mind and without preconceived ideas, the book of Revelation will be found by the Christian to not only guarantee us that we will suffer end-time tribulation, but to also offer us a most consoling and encouraging threefold promise. First, that God is sovereign over our suffering. Second, that Christ will be with us in our suffering. And third, that we will be eternally rewarded for faithfully enduring our suffering.
