Many modern-day evangelicals assume that Christ's promise in Revelation 3:10 to keep a faithful and persevering church from end-time tribulation is applicable to the carnal and compromising church of our day. Furthermore, they assume this necessitates the church being snatched from the world into the safety of Heaven in a secret rapture before any end-time trouble starts. However, as Christ's prayer for His church proves in John 17:15, He does not intend to pull us, His persevering church, out of the world, but to protect us in it, during it's coming climatic hour of trial and tribulation.
